SCORE another first for Flexi-Van! In mid-May, with the St. Lawrence Seaway only a few days old, Milwaukee Road Flexi-Van became the first trailer-on-flatcar service of any kind to take a load of import freight from dockside at Jones Island in Milwaukee and deliver it to final destination. The simplicity of the operation and the fast. overnight service from the ship dock in Milwaukee to the consignee in St. Paul, made newspaper stories in both cities.
